Let's get the party started! This morning, Icon of the Seas entered Port Miami for the first time. The record-breaking ship and its world-class crew were greeted with cheers by thousands of Royal Caribbean® shoreside employees and local super-fans. For the next 17 days, the Icon of Vacations will be part of exciting events, including the Naming Ceremony, trial cruising and technical adjustments.
Icon of the Seas departed Meyer Turku shipyard on November 29, 2023 toward Miami, Florida.
On December 1, engineering experts and meteorologists worked together, using the latest technology to ensure the most revolutionary ship ever crossed safely beneath the Great Belt Bridge with a few meters clearance.
Icon arrived in Cadiz, Spain on December 5, where the ship received finishing touches like the addition of 33,000 tropical plants in Central Park®. The week of December 17, Icon welcomed the remaining group of its world-class crew — totaling more than 2,350 crew members from over 80 countries collectively!
On December 24, Icon bid farewell to Spain and began the exciting transatlantic voyage to its homeport in Miami, while crew members onboard prepared to welcome the ship's first guests.
On January 8, 2024, Icon docked at Perfect Day at CocoCay, where crew enjoyed endless thrills and ways to chill. This marked the ship's first visit to the award-winning private island.
TODAY, Icon of the Seas entered Port Miami for the first time to fun, fanfare and more!
