Day 1. Check In and Epcot

In mid August my husband and I took a trip to Walt Disney World just three short weeks after they had reopened from the Covid closure. This trip was just an adult trip to getaway from it all, see all that Disney was doing for health and safety procedures, and to experience it all in order to give my clients the best reviews and information possible. All in all it was an amazing trip and experience from the flight to the resort to the parks, we loved every minute.

Our flight from Dallas to Orlando (MCO) via Southwest was super easy. We were required to wear masks then entire flight, except when drinking or eating. At the time Southwest was leaving one of each of the three seats open. They were also loading the plane is a slower fashion to slow down the congestion in the aisles. Once we landed at MCO it was an easy pick up of luggage and heading to the Magical Express. Magical Express was loading the buses with social distancing and separation between parties.

After a quick trip from MCO to Walt Disney World we arrived to Disney's Contemporary Resort. Our room was not ready yet, however we decided to check with guest services and were able to get into our room right away. Oh how happy we were! Our room had the most amazing view of Cinderella's Castle. We could not have asked for a better room for our adult only weekend getaway!

We took a heavenly relax at the Contemporary Pool, then headed off to Epcot for a Taste of Food and Wine.

Eating and drinking our way around the World is such a fun evening spent. Our favorite booths from the Event were from Mexico, Africa and the Hops & Barley. Epcot is definitely going through a transformation. Lots of construction walls can be found. But World Showcase is just a beautiful as ever.

You can even peek a find the new Remy's Ratatouille Adventure ride in France is coming ever so close to opening. And, the Skyliner just peacefully floating above is such a pretty view.

Also, in Epcot as well as all the parks and resorts, guests are asked to maintain social distance from other guests in ride queues, restaurants, and all spaces. It actually is a wonderful thing during Covid or even after to ask others to give you little space. Guest are required to wear masks at all times except when eating and drinking in a stationary or sitting position.

The Resort buses are also social distanced for guests. No more standing elbow to elbow. Guests are give a designated number to sit on when boarding the bus.

We ended the evening with a delicious Cinderella Cupcake and amazing views from our room.

Day 2 and Hollywood Studios coming soon to the blog! I'd love for you to come back and read all about it.
