So many announcements the past few weeks about both new things coming and old things returning to Walt Disney World! From more Resort reopening dates to sneak peeks of the 50th Celebration, it's been very exciting. Check out all the news here!
Fireworks are back this summer at Walt Disney World! Finally, on July 1st Disney Parks brought back "Happily Ever After" to Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom Park and "Epcot Forever" to the World Showcase Lagoon in Epcot. Both these shows are a huge welcome to the night skies of Walt Disney World. There was just something missing during the past 16+ months without them. They can be seen nightly in each park until October 1st.
Then October 1st, two new Nighttime Spectaculars will debut! First of which being "Disney Enchantment", coming to Magic Kingdom with brand new music, lighting, fireworks and projections all the way down Main Street USA.
The second is "Harmonious", Epcot's long awaited new show created as one of the largest ever for any Disney Parks. "Harmonious" will inspire guests in celebrating Disney Music with new technology incorporating moving fountains, pyrotechnics, lighting and new media.
More Exciting News ~ Beginning October 1st, On-site Guests will enjoy an Early Park Entry Benefit to be the first to enjoy the Parks at Every Attraction, Every Day!
An extra perk for Disney Deluxe Resort and Disney Villa Resorts Guests will be extended evening hours on select nights in select parks. More details will be released soon.
Back at your Disney Resort, guests will be surprised with appearances from Disney Pals like Pluto and Goofy popping up throughout the resort.
Speaking of Disney Resorts. Have you seen the newly renovated Polynesian Resort Rooms? The sneak peeks Disney has released look amazing. As Disney shares, “These reimagined spaces feature a new color palette inspired by the Pacific Ocean and its many islands, including details, patterns and textures from the hit Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Moana.” I am so excited to stay in these rooms! Not only are the rooms new, but the Polynesian Resort is going through a lengthy refurbishment with new South Seas inspired open and airy design to the Great Ceremonial House and Monorail Station. These resort rooms will reopen for guests July 19th.
In addition to the new Moana themed rooms at the Polynesian, Disney's Contemporary Resort has new Incredibles themed rooms under refurbishment. This design "enhances the retro-modern aesthetic evoking Tomorrowland with a dash of something Incredible, too". With the pop of Edna Mode, FroZone and Jack Jack these sleek new rooms will be an incredible upgrade to the already iconic resort. These resort rooms are said to be ready by the end of September, just in time for the 5oth Celebration.
In other Disney Resort News, we finally have a reopening date for all Disney Resorts. This week Disney opened bookings for Port Orleans Riverside, French Quarter, All-Star Music, and All-Star Sports. With the already announced openings of Animal Kingdom Lodge this brings all Disney Resorts back to business by the end of the year. Here are the reopening dates:
- Animal Kingdom Lodge August 26th
- All-Star Music September 16th
- Port Orleans Riverside October 14th
- Port Orleans French Quarter October 28th
- All-Star Sports December 9th
Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary Celebration will continue for 18 months from October 1st, 2021. In addition to the new Nighttime Spectacular Shows, Disney has announced some of the magic we can expect :
~ Dazzling EARidescent decorations and touches throughout all four parks.
~ Disney Kite Tails, a high flying new daytime show at Animal Kingdom Park.
~ Beacons of Magic, where all four Park icons will light up with EARidescence nightly.
~ Fab 50 Character Collection cast in gold throughout all four parks.
~ The opening of Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, the brand new attraction in Epcot!
~ And, I'm sure more Magic yet to be announced.... stay tuned.
